Overview
Our collaboration with INCNTRL continued on the X-Paddle controller system introduced a new approach to rear-paddle ergonomics. The X-shaped four-paddle layout was designed to improve grip, comfort and accessibility during fast-paced gameplay, especially FPS titles. Through focused testing and iterative refinement, the X-Paddle provides a layout that supports quicker reactions, more control options and a competitive advantage for players who customise their controllers.

Case Study Highlights
Developing the X-Paddle required multiple rounds of prototyping to find the ideal spacing, curvature and access angle for each paddle. Every version was tested on a real controller to ensure that each paddle could be reached naturally without disrupting grip or creating hand fatigue. This approach allowed us to refine player feedback, finger travel and overall comfort.
To support INCNTRL’s production workflow, we also created a custom internal mounting system tailored for the X-Paddle. This improved installation speed, reduced labour time and ensured consistent alignment across every controller built by their team.
After the design was finalised, we transitioned the system into mass-production with a strong focus on repeatability. The optimised workflow allowed every X-Paddle set to meet the same standard established during prototyping. Each unit is built for durability, responsiveness and precision ready for INCNTRL’s growing customer base.
