Collaborating with INCNTRL on the Axolotl Controller Paddles

We developed the Axolotl paddle for INCNTRL to introduce a new take on controller ergonomics. This four-paddle design features an X-shaped layout aimed at improving grip, comfort, and accessibility during gameplay, especially for FPS games. The Axolotl is the result of focused testing and design refinement, delivering a paddle setup that supports faster reactions, more control options, and a competitive edge for players looking to customise their experience.

Refining Design Through Prototyping

The development of this model required multiple rounds of prototyping to optimise the paddle spacing and overall comfort. Our aim was to ensure each paddle could be accessed naturally, without interrupting hand placement or grip pressure. The Axolotl layout provides enhanced feedback and positioning, making it easier to execute complex inputs during fast-paced sessions.

Introducing a New Internal Mount for Efficiency

To support the production of this model, we also developed a custom internal mounting system to streamline installation. This solution simplifies the build process, reducing labour time and costs while improving accuracy and finish. The internal mount was designed to improve workflow for INCNTRL’s team and ensure consistent quality across every controller.

Mass Production for Consistency and Quality

After completing the design phase, we moved to mass production while keeping a close focus on consistency. The manufacturing process was optimised to deliver paddle sets that meet the same standards set during prototyping. The Axolotl paddle system is now ready for INCNTRL’s customers, with every unit built for performance, durability, and precision.
