Project Overview
This mech was created for my final year university project. It is set in an alternate timeline where World War One continued into the 1930s and technology developed more rapidly. The design is based on the German FK 96 n.A. field gun mounted on a walking platform to combat armoured vehicles. The goal was to keep the look industrial and believable without any sci-fi elements, reflecting a natural evolution of World War One technology.

Design Approach
The project combines historical accuracy with creative engineering. The name ‘7.7cm FK-Schreiter 23’ follows German military naming conventions, incorporating calibre, function, and year. Detailed 3D modelling and visualisation were used to show the mech as a heavy, slow, but powerful machine.

Visualisation and Production
Using Blender and other 3D tools, detailed models and realistic renders were created. The visuals highlight the mech’s industrial character within the extended World War One setting.

Narrative and Sound
To enhance the story, the project is accompanied by the German song Wo alle Straßen enden (Where All Roads End), also known as Marsch der Verdammten (March of the Damned). The mournful song reflects the horror and brutality of war. The mech appears battle-worn and abandoned in a tent far from its crew, symbolising the physical and emotional toll of conflict.

Outcome and Impact
This project demonstrates how alternative history can be explored through 3D visualisation. It helped improve skills in modelling, texturing, and animation while blending artistic and engineering concepts.
